This has been brought up many times but it seems letting the player carry on with the break even if opponent leaves causes more problems than its worth, so I guess the only real option is to trust the player you choose to play to stay while you finish your break, unfortunately very few do.

I think you should be allowed to finish your break even if player leaves.
